audrey louise reynolds

Artisanal dyer and sustainable fashion designer, Audrey Louise Reynolds, uses all natural ingredients such as minerals, flowers and seaweed to create exquisite patterns and colours straight from Mother Nature. Audrey uses a science based technique to work with the elements and fabrics. I travelled with a team to Audrey’s backyard in Brooklyn to learn all about the intricacies of merging science, nature and creativity.

Part one of this project was a pattern created from using natural elements to form a screen and using the natural rain fall to create the pattern. Each piece of silk fabric was uniquely beautiful and created solely from nature.

BAIRD MCNUTT

Part two of this project saw Audrey, a leader in the natural dying industry, work with heritage linen mill, Baird McNutt to revolutionise the linen dying process with all natural ingredients. This innovation was the first of its kind and I was able to capture the partnership during the process
